February 3, 2014, Jefferson, NC – At the annual International Builders Show (IBS) in Las Vegas, Nevada, leadership of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Log Homes Council (LHC) changed hands. Nicole Robinson of Log Homes of America, Inc. transitioned off the LHC leadership board after having served for the past four years.
“Nicole’s dedication and insight into the log home industry during the height of the economic downturn was a valuable resource as log homes reinvent themselves in preparation for an improving market,” said Building Systems Councils (BSC) Executive Director, Donna Peak. The BSC is a Council within NAHB where the Log Homes Council, amongst other systems-built housing types, resides. “As time and budgets were tight, being able to count on Nicole to work with her peers to better the industry was a true blessing,” said Donna.
The Log Homes Council brings together companies that manufacture log home packages in the United States and Canada to work on issues of common concern, such as building codes, sales & marketing, philanthropic activities and more. “My time in a leadership role was highly educational, allowing our company to continue to be at the forefront of industry activities. Our company will continue to stay active with the LHC as we have for over 15 years,” said Nicole.
Log Homes of America, Inc. is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year. It was Nicole Robinson’s father who founded the company back in 1989. Nicole has been involved in various capacities with the company since that time, having started by accompanying her father to the jobsites when she was very young. “Nicole expressed an interest in my career at an early age,” says Charlie Maney, Nicole’s father and founder of the company. “She learned, and now for almost 20 years, has steered the business…it was a real accomplishment for our company and the log home industry as a whole for her to serve the Log Homes Council in the capacities she did.”
